Man Lurking Under Model's Bed at 'Secure' Hotel

Natalisi Taksisi expected her solo vacation in Japan to be peaceful, perhaps even transformative. What she didn’t expect was to find herself left shaken, sleepless, and demanding answers in a country she had trusted to be safe.

A Vacation Gone Wrong

It happened at the APA Hotel & Resort in Tokyo. Taksisi, a Thai model and content creator, had been excited to explore Japan alone, a country she believed to be among the safest in the world. On the first night of her stay, things went smoothly. Her room required a key card, the hotel seemed professional, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary.

But the next evening, after a long day of sightseeing, she returned to the room around 7:30 p.m. and did what most travelers do - she settled in, got comfortable, and lay down to rest. That’s when she noticed the smell. Not something you’d expect from a hotel room. At first, she blamed her hair or the sheets. Then she realized … it was coming from under the bed.

The Eyes That Stared Back

Curious and concerned, Taksisi looked beneath the mattress. What she found sent her into a panic - a pair of eyes stared back at her.

“I saw a man under my bed, and I started to scream and jumped to my feet. The man climbed out from under the bed and stared at me for three seconds,” she later recounted on TikTok, according to the Daily Mail.

Then the man screamed and bolted from the room.

Where Did He Come From?

Taksisi immediately called for help. Hotel staff contacted police, who found a power bank and USB cable under the bed. But they couldn’t offer a clear explanation for how the man got in. No signs of forced entry. No broken locks. And according to Taksisi, the hotel told her there were no security cameras inside the building, according to the New York Post.

Despite pressing for answers, she received few. As reported by the New York Post, Taksisi said, “I kept asking the hotel, ‘How did it happen?’ and they didn’t have any answer for me,” in her TikTok video, which has since gone viral with over 4 million views.

Aftermath and Fallout

Understandably, Taksisi was traumatized. She moved to a different hotel that night and initially received no compensation for the three-night stay totaling over $600. According to her, the hotel only refunded her after she reached out directly, bypassing the travel booking site she originally used. She also requested $1,600 for emotional damages - a request the hotel allegedly denied due to policy restrictions, according to PEOPLE.

In the days that followed, her trip turned into what she called a “nightmare,” PEOPLE reported.

She couldn’t sleep and was constantly checking every corner of her room. The mental toll lingered long after the man disappeared. Taksisi said, “Now, I’m left wondering how someone could get into my room, how someone knew that I was alone in my room. And how can the hotel not take responsibility for such a severe breach of safety?”

An Ongoing Mystery

As of this writing, no suspects have been named, and the investigation appears to be ongoing. With no CCTV footage and limited evidence, police may face challenges identifying the intruder.

Taksisi’s story has become a cautionary tale for solo travelers - a chilling reminder that even in the safest-seeming environments, dangers can hide in the shadows. Or under the bed.
