In Charigram, Bangladesh, a farm boasts a resident unlike any other - a 20-inch-tall cow named Rani. Weighing merely 57 pounds, Rani’s unique stature has positioned her as a potential record-breaker, attracting attention from around the globe. “Rani is a craze as she has a high possibility to have her name in the Guinness Book of World Records,” Kazi Mohammed Abu Sufian, a local farm manager, as reported by Smithsonian Magazine.

Thousands have flocked to catch a glimpse of Rani, their curiosity piqued by her diminutive size and gentle demeanor. “Many people are coming from different places to see the mysterious cow, the smallest cow in the world so I also have to be here to see the cow,” remarked visitor Ranu Begum as reported by Smithsonian Magazine. Rani, whose name means ‘queen’ in Bengali, is a white Bhutti, or Bhutanese cow, and at just 23 months old, she’s not expected to grow any taller.

Dwarfism in cows like Rani is often the result of genetic mutations that can lead to health issues. “A lot of times when you see any kind of abnormality that is congenital, then we start looking for other things that are wrong as well,” Joe Armstrong, a veterinarian specializing in cows, as reported by Smithsonian Magazine.
