Mom Uses GPS to Find Body of Missing California Man
By Maria W.. Jul 17, 2025
A man from California was found dead after his mom used a GPS tracker to help the police locate him. Here’s what happened to Isaiah Lowe.
Sad Discovery
The search for Isaiah “Zae” Lowe, a 21-year-old man from Bonsall who had been missing for almost a month, ended on Feb. 18, 2025 when authorities found his body in his black Chevrolet Camaro, which had been discovered underwater in the San Luis Rey River a day earlier.
The Disappearance
The investigation into Lowe’s disappearance began after he was last seen leaving his mom’s house in Bonsall on Jan. 22 before 6 a.m. Surveillance video showed him getting into his Camaro, and soon after, his GPS tracking system picked up the car driving east on Highway 76, but the signal was lost. His phone was turned off, and there was no activity in his bank accounts, which made his family worried.

The Search
The afternoon of Feb. 17, Lowe’s mother called the authorities with information from a GPS tracker in his car, which directed her to State Route 76, just north of Ramona Drive in Bonsall. Lowe’s family, some close friends, and private investigator Tony Campbell watched as authorities searched an area where the family had found car debris near a large tear in a highway fence along eastbound SR-76, about two to three miles east of Mission Road. San Diego Sheriff’s deputies and search teams arrived, and Search and Rescue teams carefully searched the area between the river and the road. During the search, a K-9 dog became very interested in one spot in the water, barking and swimming toward it. Divers later found the car submerged in the river, near where the car parts were discovered.

The search was stopped for the night because it was getting dark and the divers were running low on oxygen. The next morning, there was a large presence from the Sheriff’s Department as multiple vehicles, a tow truck, divers, and investigators worked to pull the submerged car out. A body matching Lowe’s description was found inside the car. Authorities later confirmed that the body was indeed Lowe’s.

Mother Requests Prayers
Natalie Wallace, Lowe’s mother, often posted updates on Facebook about her missing son until his car and body were found. Afterward, she thanked everyone who supported the search for Lowe. “Facebook family, I do not know what to say, but THANK YOU all for searching, praying and looking for my baby Isaiah Lowe,” Wallace wrote in a post with pictures of her son. “He has been found but not the way we wanted to find him. Please keep myself and our family in your prayers.”
The loss of Lowe is a heartbreaking tragedy for his family and friends. After nearly a month of searching, his loved ones finally found out what happened and are now trying to find closure, as many questions still remain.
