Police Response

As of April 2024, the New York Police Department (NYPD) has officially acknowledged a minimum of 12 reported incidents, resulting in six arrests related to the attacks. Despite the consistent pattern of these occurrences, law enforcement has refrained from labeling it as a trend. The concerning aspect is the striking resemblance among the stories. Victims are predominantly young women in their 20s, ambushed in broad daylight by a male assailant who delivers a sudden, unprovoked punch to their faces.
