Was Trump® Hotel Shooter Silenced With Hush Money?

What do a Trump-branded hotel shootout, a former adult entertainer, and an international music mogul have in common? If you think that sounds like the setup to a bad joke or a conspiracy theory forum post, think again. A recent resurfacing of court testimony has dragged a nearly forgotten shooter back into the spotlight - this time, tangled in a federal sex-trafficking trial involving none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The Incident That Started It All

Back in May 2018, Jonathan Oddi - a former porn actor from South Africa - stormed Trump^® National Doral Miami resort, draped an American flag over the lobby desk, and opened fire.

The shootout with law enforcement ended with Oddi wounded and arrested. He was charged with attempted murder of law enforcement officers, armed burglary, and armed grand theft. At the time, his bizarre ramblings to police - including claims he was a sex worker for Sean Combs and singer Cassie Ventura - were largely written off as delusional.

An Alleged ‘Sex Slave’ and a Shocking Testimony

Oddi’s wild-sounding allegations didn’t get much traction initially. He reportedly told police he had sex with Cassie while Diddy watched and gave instructions. He even described wearing police officer costumes and claimed he was paid roughly $800 per session. Authorities didn’t pursue the claims further at the time.

But fast forward to 2024, and things look different. During a federal sex-trafficking trial in New York, Cassie Ventura - Diddy’s former girlfriend - testified under oath that Oddi was, in fact, one of several male escorts hired for what were apparently called “freak-offs.” She even identified him in a courtroom photo.

Her testimony echoed what Oddi had claimed years earlier.

This time, people listened.

A Settlement, a Tape, and Lingering Questions

According to Oddi, he recorded at least one of the sessions, after Cassie allegedly passed out, out of fear for his safety. He claims he used the footage to negotiate a $5 million settlement with Combs around 2014. The Daily Mail reportedly published a screenshot of the signed agreement, though its authenticity has not been officially confirmed.

Cassie testified she believed Oddi had secretly filmed them, and that she once spotted a phone recording during a session. When she told Diddy, he allegedly said he would “take care of it,” according to LBC.

If true, that’s a serious allegation - raising questions not just about consent but also potential blackmail and cover-ups.

Mental Illness or Cover Story?

Oddi has admitted he may have been experiencing a bipolar episode the day of the Trump hotel incident. But he’s also said that he’s since been stabilized on medication and has had no behavioral issues while incarcerated.

He remains in custody awaiting trial. Despite his past being filled with contradictions, it’s harder to dismiss his claims now that they align with sworn courtroom testimony.

The Bigger Picture - Coincidence or Conspiracy?

So, what does it all mean?

There’s no concrete evidence tying Diddy to the 2018 Trump hotel shooting. Oddi acted alone and under mental duress. But the reappearance of his name and image in a federal trial, connected to a high-profile figure, has fueled online speculation of a deeper, darker web.

Is it all just a bizarre coincidence? Or are we seeing pieces of a long-buried story finally come together?

The federal trial against Combs is still ongoing. So far, his legal team has not addressed Oddi’s claims publicly. No charges have been brought against Diddy regarding Oddi’s allegations and much remains unproven.

Still, the overlap of sex, power, violence, and fame has ignited the public’s imagination - and brought a strange and disturbing tale back into the spotlight.

What Happens Next?

If Oddi is called to testify, things could get even messier. But even if he isn’t, this moment has already redefined a story once dismissed as nonsense.

The Trump hotel shooter’s claims - once discarded - are now center stage in one of the most-watched trials in America. What once seemed like the incoherent ranting of a gunman may be more relevant than anyone wanted to admit.
